ABOARD A B-24 BOMBER ON A ROUTINE NIGHT FLIGHT
FROM THE ASSAM VALLEY, INDIA TO KUNMING, CHINA,
ACROSS THE HAZARDOUS HUMP ROUTE
...A SEVERE STORM WAS ENCOUNTERED FOLLOWED BY
FIRE IN THE PLANE WHICH NECESSITATED A BAILOUT
AT 28,500 FEET, ALL LANDING SAFELY WITH THE
EXCEPTION OF JACK..."
