John was born in Ireland in 1829 and came to the US in 1848 and via Philadelphia to Fulton in 1848. He later moved to Newton Township where he lived until his death. He was married to Ann Mathews also from Ireland in Whiteside County. His brothers Patrick and James are also buried in this cemetery as is his father William Kennedy.
