George was born George Elmer Doerr in Macomb,IL. on 10 Nov 1912. His parents were Charles and Amelia Heede Doerr. Upon the death of his mother in 1918 and his father in 1919 he was adopted by Dr. Emil Otto and Lillian Heede Ficke of Davenport, IA. He was married to Jacqueline Rothermel of Davenport, IA. Their children were John, George, Robert and Dave. George and Jacqueline resided in Crete, IL., briefly in Walled Lake, MI. and they retired to Colorado Springs, CO.
