Born Hardy County VA., Son of Lawrence Shook. Married to Susannah Hinkle who is also buried in Green Mountain Cemetery (Stone Cannot Be Located)
Migrates to Illinois In the spring of 1801, Samuel Shook, his wife and two infant sons, migrated west to join his two Brothers and their families who had migrated to St. Clair County in the Indiana Territory in 1797. Making the westward trek with Samuel Shook and his family were his father and his brother Jonas and his family. Buried along Memorial Avenue.
