Thomas was born, in Edwards, IL., to Leo and Catherine Weese Hietter. He enlisted in the service on Feb 28, 1942 at Camp Grant, IL. and married, on Aug 7, 1942 in Denver, CO., Jean T. Powers, born in Peoria, IL. to George and Ruth Westphal Powers. He and Jean had four children. He died in E. Peoria, IL and she died in O' Fallon, MO. Though both names are on this headstone, records show she is buried in ST. Josephs Cemetery in Peoria County, IL.
