Born Nov 14, 1864, Warsaw, Hancock County, Illinois. Son of Heinrich Anton and Magdalena Boecking Wissing. He married Aug 20, 1889, Clothilda Heppler Wissing. They had five children, Leo Joseph Wissing(1890–1974), Alphonse Wissing(1892–1965), Estelle A Wissing (1894–1969), Joseph L Wissing(1896–1953) and Marie Lucia Wissing(1898–1992). He died Apr 14, 1938 in Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois.
