VAN OVEN MAUSOLEUM
Design is reminiscent of the Parthenon. There are 4 columns,a concrete walkway and 3 steps leading up to the entrance. The name, Von Oven, is inscribed over the door. The door is bronze with 2 windows. There is a window at the back made of clear glass blocks. The mausoleum has room for 8 internments, 4 on each side. There is some dirt and debris on the floor inside as if it hasn't been visited in awhile. The following inscriptions were what could be viewed by peering inside the door.
On left side:
1. Top - empty
2. Empty
3. FREDERICK M. VON OVEN
1876 - 1929
4. Bottom - HELENE VON OVEN

On right side:

Note: The Von Oven family operated a tile and brick business and owned a quarry, which later was transformed into Centennial Beach. Many of the older homes in Naperville have foundations made from stone from his quarry. The local Boy Scout camp is located on part of the original Von Oven property.
