Torres and Seri arrived in North America in June 1857 from Bergen, Norway with children Thomas, Belle, Julia, Celia, and Andrew who was born at sea. They first settled in Polk County, IA before moving to Story County, IA where Torres enlisted in the Union Army. They later moved to Kendall County, IL where Torres died in 1898.
