WHITMAN BURRELL, BLANCHE MARIE - Tazewell County, Illinois | BLANCHE MARIE WHITMAN BURRELL - Illinois Gravestone Photos

Prairie Rest, Delavan Cemetery
Tazewell County,

These are my paternal grandparents, awesome people! Farmers, and toward their later years, they were caretakers for both Prairie Rest Cemetery and the nearby Catholic Cemetery. They were parents to 5 children; Charles Raymond Burrell, Olive Mae Burrell Plut, James Robert Burrell (buried to right of Blanche), Rose Mary Burrell Dreher Lambert, and William Edward Burrell. They both were born in Indiana, married in English Indiana on April 23, 1927 after meeting 6 weeks prior. Harry's brother James, married Blanche's sister Helen Louise Whitman. Harry Wilson Burrell was born on July 31, 1906 and died in Pekin Memorial Hospital, Pekin Illinois, on February 14, 1990 (aged 84). Blanche Marie Whitman Burrell was born on September 23, 1910 and died in Gibson City Annex Hospital, Gibson City Illinois, on October 26, 2007 (aged 97). I can just imagine the smiles on their faces when they met again in Heaven. I will always, ALWAYS, have fond memories of two wonderful people who showed me much unconditional love. Grandma loved cats and always had a yard FULL of flowers. Grandma had a garden unlike I have ever seen, with softball sized various colored onions, softball sized tomatoes, green peppers, banana peppers, cabbage, lettuce, green onions, green beans, peas, sage, other herbs, and other things. They lived at 303 Walnut Street in Delavan Illinois. I have many pictures of these two. I can be contacted at Rodcays@yahoo.com.
